Submissions

Full Surface Publishing is dedicated to publishing quality material that is written for the purposes of educating people about issues of concern to the black community. If you are interested in publishing this type of literature, either fiction or nonfiction, please submit your manuscript to us. We are interested in manuscripts about the U.S. prison system, crime and punishment, criminology, penology, religion, cultural issues, sex issues, relationships, street life, gang life, prison life, autobiographies, African-American issues, African issues, etc.

Currently, we are only accepting proposals/manuscripts via email submission. Please submit proposal or properly formatted manuscript to info@fullsurfacepublishing.com. We are NOT accepting hard copy materials at this time. Proposals should include the book title, a table of contents including a brief description of each chapter, a brief description of the proposed book, including the unique contribution of the book and why you feel it must be published, your intended reader, and your personal biography including your qualifications to write the book. We reserve no rights to utilize any parts of submitted manuscripts in any way except for consideration for publishing, whereas the author would be notified, contracted, and subsequently compensated by Full Surface Publishing for publishing his or her works. Please include contact info with submission. Responses can generally be expected within 6 weeks of submitting materials. We are a trade imprint and do not require an investment by the author into the publication of the author's work, except in cases when the manuscript is unedited; we do provide editing services for a fee. However, we would prefer that all manuscripts be fully edited and prepared for publication prior to submitting them to us. If your work is found to be acceptable for publication by our company we will respond with a formal offer. Our terms of author compensation are above industry standards, even for first time authors.
 

Editing Services

We also provide professional proofreading editing services for authors, publication companies, students and speech writers. We have professional editors who have created and proofread more than 100,000 documents for clients worldwide. Unlike most editing services whose freelancers merely proofread and "tweak" your words, Full Surface has a TWO PERSON TEAM assigned to thoroughly review, edit, and improve every client's text to PERFECTION. After our first pair of eyes spends hours editing your work, a chief editor then spends additional time re-reviewing it---continuing to edit your work to ensure that perfection. We have one of the lowest standard editing rates of $150.00 per 50 pages, regardless of the number of words per page. (Please do not purposefully condense your text. We cannot and will not offer this rate for overly condensed text.) If you desire editing services for your manuscript, speech, letter, dissertation or publication, please submit it to info@fullsurfacepublishing.com. Documents may be submitted in either Word or PDF form. After receiving both the document(s) and payment we will forward a notification to your email address. Payment is required in advance for editing services and may be rendered via PayPal, credit or debit card, check or money order. Editing services typically takes between 1 to 3 weeks to complete, depending on the size of the document. All submitted materials are held in the strictest of confidence and security and are not shared, held or viewed by any third parties. There is no refund for editing services rendered.
